2. MORNING PRAYER.

A. LONG PRAYER.

O MY GOD, at the beginning of this day I turn to You, my Lord and Father, Who look upon me lovingly as upon Your child. To You I commit myself and all that is mine, that You may protect me from all dangers, strengthen me against temptations, keep me from all evil. Grant me to desire always what is most acceptable to You, that Your will may be mine, that my will may be conformed to Yours. You alone can help me, deliver me and save me. Accept the offering of all my thoughts, words and deeds. Grant that all my activity may be directed towards You.

O my God, I believe in You and all that You teach us, because You are Truth itself. I believe that you are my Creator and my Father, my Lord and my Judge. I believe that perfect happiness lies in knowing and loving You.

O my God, I hope and trust that You will always give me the help and graces I need in order to obey Your commandments all through Life and finally to reach You, my End and my Reward, because you are always ready to help us.

O my God, I love you will my whole mind, with my whole heart, with my whole strength, with my whole being, because you are Goodness itself and the Fountain of all Good. I love You above all things and I am ready to sacrifice everything for Your love. I desire to love all men, my brothers, for the love of You, who are Father of us all, who make Your light to shine on all Your children, whether good or evil, rich or poor, exalted or humble in position. I pray You to bless them all and to give them also all that I ask for myself.

O God, who are Truth, make me to seek Truth always: truth in my words, my judgements, my actions. That I may shun falsehood. That I may not compromise with injustice, wickedness, corruption and oppression. Grant me to hunger and thirst for justice. Detach me from the love of riches and earthly success. Give me a heart pure and chaste, meek and humble. Make me patient in suffering and persecution, a peacemaker and a consoler. Let me sow goodness in the world, radiate light and spread Love. O my God, let me live before You as a burning lamp, spending myself completely in humble worship and faithful devotion.
